Diogo tragically passed away in a car accident on July 3rd 2025. Just 11 days after marrying his childhood sweetheart and mother of his three children.

Jota won two UEFA Nations League titles with Portugal, in 2019 and 2025. Across his 49 senior caps, he scored 14 goals and represented Portugal at two UEFA European Championships; 2020 and 2024.
